With the global population approaching 8bn people and less than a decade to halve global emissions, the way we interact with our natural environment needs to be acted upon at all levels of society including in the boardroom.
With increasing recognition of the complex, interdependent nature between business and nature – economy and ecology - governments and standard setters around the world are developing a clearer point of view about this challenge, as it becomes more urgent to take action on ecosystem disruption and reductions in global biomass.
We will be joined by Mardi McBrien, Managing Director of the Climate Disclosure Standards Board, Professor Sir Partha Dasgupta, who led the independent global review on the economics of biodiversity, and Sir Roger Gifford, Chair of the Green Finance Institute, and to discuss why 'nature' should feature on the board agenda and the practical actions this presents for boards and executive teams. We will also explore the role of finance in moving to a climate resilient economy, while enhancing nature considerations into the financial system.
